Consultation Workshop on assessment of social – labor situation at industrial parks

IMS International is proud to announce its collaboration with Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry branch in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM), the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the Leather, Handbags and Footwear Association (LEFASO), and IDH Vietnam to organize a Consultation Workshop on assessment of social-labor situation at industrial parks (IPs) and garment/textile and footwear factories. This workshop is a continuation to the morning session on “Updates on production, business and employment situation in the Southern region” and will take place on December 2nd, 2022, from 13:30 to 17:00 at the Meeting Hall, 10th floor, VCCI HCM, No. 171, Vo Thi Sau Stress, 3 District, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The objective of the Consultation Workshop is to identify social impacts that stakeholders need to focus on and coordinate in order to support garment/textile and footwear enterprises and industrial parks during the period of 2023-2025, with a focus on employment and labor, women’s empowerment, and occupational safety and health at the workplace and industrial parks. The workshop will see participants from VCCI – HCM, VITAS, LEFASO.

Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), international brands in Vietnam, and representatives of textile and footwear enterprises. By bringing together these key stakeholders, the Consultation Workshop aims to facilitate a comprehensive discussion and create a shared understanding of the social-labor situation at IPs and garment/textile and footwear factories. The workshop seeks to establish collective goals and develop a roadmap for action to ensure sustainable growth and development of the industry. IMS International and its partners are excited to bring together such a diverse group of stakeholders to discuss and identify solutions to the pressing social and labor issues that affect the garment/textile and footwear industry in Vietnam.
